Wildlife, Watercolor, and a Little Magic!

And that's a wrap on these two magnificent elk!

I had so much fun exploring the rich, warm colors of their coats against that dramatic blue background. I especially love the contrast between the loose, flowing washes and the intricate details that bring these animals to life.

There's something I find endlessly fascinating about watercolor—how a little water, pigment, and creative experimentation can transform a blank sheet of paper into a story.

Welcome to Studio Snippets

For years, Instagram and Facebook have been places where I’ve shared my paintings, works in progress, and glimpses of life in the studio. I’m grateful for the connections and conversations that grew there.

Lately, I’ve been thinking more about where my art lives online and how public artwork may be used on those platforms, including in AI. I want a space on my own website where I can share more of the work, the process, and the stories behind each painting.

I’ll still post close-ups and small glimpses here and on Facebook and Instagram. But the fuller view—finished paintings, works in progress, and more of the choices and stories behind them—will be here.

I’m streamlining Studio Snippets to feel familiar and easy to browse: a visual feed of regular updates from my studio, much like the way many of us once used Instagram. You can stop by, catch up, and see what I’m working on whenever you like.

Thank you for following my work and being part of this community. You’re warmly welcome here. I’m glad to have a place to keep sharing with you.
